Short

Scott Spence is a straight-talking product engineer, Svelte consultant, and coding-agent tinkerer. He builds production AI systems, MCP tools, SvelteKit products, and open-source developer tooling. He also co-organises Svelte Society London.

Medium

Scott Spence is a UK-based product engineer, Svelte Ambassador, and the person behind an unreasonable number of MCP tools. He builds production AI systems and the coding-agent infrastructure needed to keep them useful, observable, and under control. Scott co-organises Svelte Society London and writes practical guides about what worked, what failed, and what sent him down another tooling rabbit hole.

Long

Scott Spence is a product engineer and Svelte consultant who likes building tools that remove repetitive work without quietly lowering the engineering bar. His work covers production AI systems, coding-agent guardrails, MCP tools, evals, observability, SvelteKit, and open-source developer tooling.

He previously led 12 developers across two teams building AI customer-service software. Before web development, he spent more than a decade automating business processes as an analyst developer, so turning awkward operational work into software is not a new hobby.

Scott is a Svelte Ambassador and co-founder of Svelte Society London. He writes practical engineering guides at scottspence.com, speaks at conferences, and shares the useful parts of his experiments in public. When he is not building another terminal tool, he is probably listening to drum and bass, watching mechanical restoration videos, changing something on his keyboard, or insisting that Borderlands 2 is still the best one.
